Peterlee Amateur Swimming Club

Founded over fifty years ago, Peterlee Amateur Swimming Club has a long and proud history of serving the local community through swimming. Over five decades, the club has supported generations of swimmers, volunteers and families, evolving with the sport while remaining rooted in the values of commitment, care and community involvement.

Peterlee Amateur Swimming Club exists to provide a safe, supportive and inclusive environment where swimmers of all abilities can enjoy the sport of swimming and reach their individual potential.

We are committed to:

  • developing swimmers through high-quality coaching
  • promoting enjoyment, effort and personal improvement
  • supporting competitive ambition where appropriate
  • fostering a strong sense of teamwork, respect and belonging

As a volunteer-led community club, we place great value on:

  • Respect — for swimmers, coaches, volunteers and officials
  • Integrity — in how decisions are made and how the club is run
  • Care — for the wellbeing and development of our swimmers
  • Commitment — to doing things properly and sustainably

We aim to run the club in a transparent, well-governed and sustainable way, ensuring it remains accessible and successful for current and future generations of swimmers.
